Store Transformation in Taipei
【Brand story】
Many years ago, in an era when coffee was not yet widespread, there was a locksmith in Wanhua who had a deep love for coffee. Frustrated by not being able to find the taste he desired after exploring Taipei, he decided to open a tiny 0.7 ping shop next to his key-cutting stand. There, he could make and sell the coffee he loved while also cutting keys for his customers.
For his coffee, he insisted on using high-quality beans. One cup at a time, the people in his neighborhood began to fall in love with this unique flavor. They frequented his shop daily, which led to the creation of an exclusive blend known as the “Alberto Blend.” Across from Longshan Temple, on Guangzhou Street’s Tingzaijiao, in 2005, the first coffee shop in the heart of Wanhua was established.
Later, the old locksmith wanted to retire, and his son and daughter-in-law took over. They, even more than their father, paid great attention to detail and studied under coffee masters, insisting on roasting their beans themselves. After nine days of careful calculation, they achieved the perfect and most exquisite coffee beans.
Nine Days Coffee expanded beyond Wanhua but retained its corner as a locksmith. The furniture for cutting keys is still there, and the beloved special blend, the “Alberto Blend,” remains rich and flavorful. There are more new flavors waiting for coffee enthusiasts to unlock and enjoy!
【Key points of transformation】
Nestled in Wanhua, the Coffee Nook of the Old Locksmith Takes Shape
Located under the colonnades of Guangzhou Street in Wanhua, Nine Days Coffee was founded by an old locksmith and has now been passed down to the second generation. Their in-house roasted coffee beans have garnered immense support from local customers. The original shop primarily focused on takeout, and in front of the store, they retained their key-cutting operation, creating a somewhat cluttered environment visually.
Through this transformation, the brand was positioned as “The Coffee Nook of the Old Locksmith,” with the slogan “Nine Days of Bean Cultivation, the Ultimate Flavor Lock.” This realigned the store, creating a coffee nook with a blend of urban charm and artistic sophistication that echoes the brand’s history and specialty in coffee bean roasting.
