The origin of LAMSAMYICK can be traced back to 1917 when a young apprentice studied under the tutelage of his master in Fuzhou, Fujian and devoted himself to ink brush making. After years of hard work, the young apprentice cofounded Sanyizhai, an ink brush specialty store, with two other partners. The name of the store signified "the three friendships which are advantageous: friendship with the upright, friendship with the sincere, and friendship with the man of much observation."
