Store Transformation in Taipei

【Brand story】

In the year 1950, in Taipei’s Dadaocheng, Mr. Li Shuitu took over the Tai Chun Soap Factory from the Japanese. He produced soap made from plant oils and extracts, free from harmful ingredients. A bar of “Black Snow Soap” was used from head to toe, holding memories of Dadaocheng’s grandparents.

Over the decades, Tai Chun soap found its way from Taiwanese households into hotels and inns. It continued its tradition of being eco-friendly, not causing pollution like chemical detergents. The soap suds flowed into rivers, where they were naturally broken down by microorganisms.

Protecting the environment and living harmoniously with the land – these were the teachings of Mr. Li Shuitu, passed down through three generations without being forgotten. After a century, Tai Chun Soap returned to its place of origin to continue making soap, doing good for people, respecting nature, and benefiting the community. As the old saying goes, “The earth’s evergreen pines and the changing seasons of red laurels and sweet osmanthus bring a long-lasting fragrance.” Just like the cherished kindness of Mr. Li, these blessings are transformed into gifts and shared with the world.Top of FormBottom of Form

【Key points of transformation】

Mr. Li Shuitu started his journey in Dadaocheng with a grocery store. In 1950, he took over the Tai Chun Soap Factory from the Japanese and began producing soap free from harmful ingredients, using plant oils and extracts. A bar of “Black Snow Soap” was used from head to toe, holding cherished memories of Dadaocheng’s grandparents.

Over the decades, Tai Chun Soap transitioned from Taiwanese households to hotels and inns, continuing its tradition of being eco-friendly and causing no pollution from chemical detergents. It promoted environmental protection and a harmonious coexistence between people and the land, guided by Mr. Li Shuitu’s principles, which have been passed down through three generations. After a century, Tai Chun Soap returned to its place of origin, where they continued their soap-making journey, respecting nature, and benefiting the community. Their motto is “The earth’s evergreen pines bring longevity, and the changing seasons of red laurels and sweet osmanthus bring a profusion of fragrance,” a reflection of Mr. Li’s cherished benevolence, which they now convey as a blessing to others.

Description

Mr. Shui-Tu Lee started up a grocery store in Dadaocheng in 1950. After the Japanese post-war withdrawal from Taiwan, Mr. Lee took over Dachuns Soap, starting the business of soap production and sales. He made up his mind to manage the business with trust and honesty and to uphold and advocate this spirit. The business has been passed down to the third generation. For the past 70 years, the children have never forgotten their origin and adhered strictly to their grandfather’s instructions of how to behave and conduct themselves based on the principle of “coexistence with the land.” In 2016, Dachun Soap would love to further spread and share Mr. Lee’s original intentions and best wishes with more people. The name and logo of Dachun Soap have served as the embodiment of Mr. Lee’s will and spirit;  Refined with our heart, every piece of our soap is not only simple, pure and eco-friendly, but it also contributes to sustainability and coexistence of human and earth.
