Description
Ta Pu Mei Bakery was founded in 1972 by Master Chin-Shing He, who boasts over sixty years of pastry-making expertise. His wife, Bi-Nu Chen, is a testament to his dedication and craftsmanship. With a passion for baking, solid techniques, and a spirit of research, they committed their lives to the pastry industry. They have incorporated, refined, and developed new products using baking techniques from Europe, the U.S., and Japan, ensuring that traditional pastries meet modern tastes.
Ta Pu Mei insists on using only top-quality and guaranteed ingredients. Despite several major food safety incidents in Taiwan, such as the use of recycled cooking oil, the scandal of diseased pigs, and toxic milk powder, the bakery has remained largely unaffected, earning the trust of its customers. The second-generation owner, Cheng-Zhang He, who holds a PhD in Food Science from National Taiwan University and is a licensed nutritionist, left his teaching position to take over the family business. He continuously develops and innovates, breathing new life and vitality into traditional pastries.
