【Brand story】

In the year 1913, Liu An Tang was founded in Huian, Fujian. The two brothers, Yang Jingru and Yang Chengfa, practiced medicine and pharmacy, offering remedies to help the community. They became renowned in their hometown.

In 1949, they moved to Taiwan, and the tradition of alchemical medicine and herbal remedies has been passed down through three generations. The passion for their craft burns brightly. They carefully select natural ingredients and use their expertise and sincerity to process and prepare herbs, plants, insects, and fish into secret formulas and pills. They use low heat, precise decoction, and slow cooking to create herbal cuisine that provides care and nourishment for every season.

Just as their ancestors taught them, they believe that proper balance in the body requires the use of herbs and minerals. When the body is healthy, the spirit thrives—never forgetting the guidance of their forebears. The store’s space features a story corridor that traces the historical paths of the old house and the old shop. At the storefront, we arrange the brand image and seasonal theme products, discarding the heavy impression of the old store’s name.

Dihua Street of Taipei City has been the distribution center of groceries and Chinese herbal medicines since the Qing Dynasty, and "Liu An Tang" is a well-known century old Chinese medicine store on Dihua Street.
"Liu An Tang" was founded by two brothers, Jin-Ru Yang and Cheng-Fa Yang in 1913 at Huian County of Fujian Province in China. The brothers practiced Chinese Medicine while making medicine. Their medicine and treatment skills were well known and their businesses flourished. They also traded with the local and foreign customers, increased their financial resources exponentially, and became first-class merchants in the province.
They moved to Taiwan in 1949 and opened stores at Yanping North Road and Raohe Street, respectively. The second generation inheritor, Wei-Cheng Yang, inherited the store and was deeply trusted by the customers because of his studiousness, quality commitment, fair price, and honest business practices. The store is currently passed-on to the third generation.
