Description

Taipei Children’s Amusement Park is formerly the Taipei Children's Recreation Center located in Yuanshan. The entire place was categorized as a national archeological site on April 11, 2006. As its geographic location is constrained by height restriction on the flight path, Cultural Heritage Preservation Act and the Water Act, the development, renovation and management of the original site were all met with huge impact and restrictions. To improve and overcome these restrictions, in October 2007, the Taipei City Government developed plans to build the Taipei Children’s Amusement Park in the Shilin District (about 5 hectares), in conjunction with the overall planning of the nearby Taipei Astronomical Museum, the National Taiwan Science Education Center, Meilun Park and the Shuangxi waterways. “The Taipei Children’s Amusement Park Construction” was listed as key priority on the municipal Whitepaper aiming to create an urban parent-child recreational space encompassing educational, leisure & recreational, cultural functions to offer the city residents a new option for outdoor activities. Upon completion of the Park in 2014, the Taipei Rapid Transit Corporation was commissioned for its operation, in charge of its management, maintenance, as well as the planning, renting and management of its auxiliary businesses. The north of the foundation site is the Qihe Road bordering the Xuansi, with the Qihe Road on the east bordering the Meilun Highway, and the Shishang Road on the south bordering the National Taiwan Science Education Center, and with the Chengde Road on the west and later to be planned as a depot to connect with the future Shezi Light Rail Transit. In close proximity to the Taipei Astronomical Museum, the National Taiwan Science Education Center, Meilun Park and the Riverside Park, the Taipei Children’s Amusement Park allows the general public access to not only the various amusement facilities within the Park, but also diversified possibilities for activities that extend to include both education, recreation and nature. All are welcome to the Park for a beautiful and blissful time.
